I want to update you on the new stadium being built by the Carroll Community School District. Construction is progressing and the excitement is building. It will be state-of-the-art. It will be a very multi-purpose complex for activities from marching band and football to soccer, track and other community events.
There has been some inaccurate information about the stadium's field. The new artificial field turf will be plain green with white markings and numbers only with no school logos.
The new scoreboard does have a header as "Carroll Athletic Field" with a Carroll Tiger logo. There was some initial confusion regarding the signage of the new scoreboard. There will be opportunities for Kuemper colors and emblems to be displayed at the stadium on game days such as flags, banners and on the new scoreboard's video display. The scoreboard's video capabilities may not be 100% operational for the first few football games for either school, so we thank you for your patience.
Overall, the cooperation between the two schools has been very positive. Earlier this week, the two Activity Directors and representatives from the two Booster Clubs met in the new stadium's concession stands to jointly plan for those operations. There are many planning details from popcorn stands and cooler/refrigerator locations to wi-fi connections and where each Booster Club trailer will park. The collaboration has been very efficient and positive and we thank CCSD for this productive partnership.
I have also been in contact with CCSD superintendent, Dr. Kevin Lein, regarding our rental agreement for using the stadium for various activities such as track, soccer and football games. I am happy to report that our mutual agreements remain very constructive and favorable for Kuemper's operations. I look forward to that arrangement continuing far into the future as the sharing of this facility has been a win-win for the two schools for many decades. Now with a brand new $6 million complex, the experience for our Kuemper Knights will be one of the finest in the state.
Thanks again for choosing a Catholic education for your child. We look forward to a wonderful 2018-19 school year as we continue to help you be the primary educator of your child's mind, body and soul. We Are Kuemper!
