Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This world is in constant motion and change. As people increasingly access
important information on their mobile devices, the need to provide faith resources on
these platforms also increases. With your support of the Catholic Communications
Campaign, the daily Mass readings can be made available as free podcasts, or
available in English and Spanish by email subscription. By supporting the CCC,
people across the country are able to experience the Scriptures in a new way and are
never far from the Word of God.
This collection, held in our Diocese at all Masses for the solemnity of Holy Trinity
Sunday, June 11, helps bring the Gospel message to the public square so that all can
know the love of God. Pope Francis has reminded us that “Love, by its nature, is
communication... communication has the power to build bridges, to enable encounter
and inclusion, and thus to enrich society” (World Communications Day Message,
2016). Your support of this collection helps to enrich society and to invite all to
encounter the love of God.
These efforts would not be possible without your support! Your contributions to the
CCC collection continue the work of communicating the Gospel at home and around
the world. In addition, 50% of all funds collected remain here in our own diocese to
support our local communication and evangelization efforts, especially in Catholic
radio and my own “Meditations in a Minute” podcasts.
Please support this campaign with your prayers and devotion, and please prayerfully
consider making a donation to this important collection. Your gift means that people
in our diocese, our country, and our world will better know the love of God and the
Church.
Your brother in Christ,
Most Reverend R. Walker Nickless
Bishop of Sioux City
