Randy R. Eischeid, 65 of Halbur, died on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at home surrounded by family.
A private family funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Friedrichsen. Instrumental music will be by Julie Sibbel. Burial will follow the funeral mass in St. Augustine Cemetery. Born on March 26, 1955, Randy was the son of George and Helen (Eich) Eischeid. He spent his childhood growing up on a farm near Halbur then moving into town. He graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, IA. On August 19, 1978, Randy married DeAnn Riesselman at St. Augustine Catholic Church and they continued to build a life together in the Halbur community. Together they had three children: Matt, Angie, and Corey. He enjoyed working at Rotert Construction, Pella Windows, and hauling fuel for both Riesberg Garage and Halbur Enterprises. Throughout his life, Randy loved to work and “shoot the breeze” with anyone who would listen. You could find him tinkering in his workshop, woodworking, and crafting. Randy loved collecting odds and ends and sharing his “finds” with others. He loved his two dogs, Gabby and Roxie. They were always by his side waiting for a treat to fall.
Randy is survived by his wife, DeAnn of Halbur; his children Matt (Stacy) Eischeid of Dallas Center, Angie (Joe) Hausner of Atchison, KS, and Corey (Ali) Eischeid of Halbur; seven grandchildren (who he adored): Makayla and Kendra Eischeid, Evelyn and Grace Hausner, and Addison, Hayden, and Hudson Eischeid; his brother Gene (Donna) Eischeid of Chambersburg, PA, sister Geri (Kim) Draves of Halbur, sister Shirley Eischeid and her partner Kathy Huff of Topeka, KS; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dean (Doris) Riesselman, Denise (Ernest) Middleton, Deb Neubauer, and Dan (Jeannie) Riesselman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his brothers and sister: Thomas Eischeid, Donald Eischeid, Vernon Eischeid, and Diane Brant; brother-in-law Dwayne Brant; nephew Brett Eischeid; and mother-in-law Donna Riesselman.
