FROM THE DESK OF THE Regional PAROCHIAL VICAR: Last weekend we began implementing our Ministry 2025 plan in Carroll County with the merging of St. Lawrence and Holy Spirit parishes into a new parish-St. John Paul II with two worship sites and the closing of the parishes Holy Family-Lidderdale and Holy Angels-Roselle. St. John Paul II Parish has assumed the responsibility of selling the property of the former Holy Family Parish. St. Augustine Parish in Halbur has assumed the property/assets of Holy Angels including maintaining the church building and cemetery for occasional use. This week we implement more of the plan as on Tuesday July 10 Fr. Kevin Richter becomes the pastor of St. John Paul II Parish-Carroll, St. Mary Parish-Willey, St. Joseph Parish-Dedham, and Annunciation Parish-Coon Rapids with the assistance of two parochial vicars-Fr. Brian Feller [also chaplain for Keumper Catholic School] and Fr. Shinoj Jose. And I return as pastor for St. Bernard Parish-Breda, Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Mount Carmel, and St. John the Baptist Parish-Arcadia; and as pastor St. Augustine Parish-Halbur with the secondary worship site of Holy Angels Church in Roselle, Sacred Heart Parish-Templeton, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton-Glidden with the assistance of Fr. Timothy Schott, sacramental minister. As we move into this next phase, Mass times are changing in some locations, the website for the six parishes of CTKCC is being updated, and next weekend we will have a new bulletin for the six parishes of CTKCC. As we have been moving through the process I have been using Eucharistic Prayer for Various Needs and Occasions I, not found in BREAKING BREAD, due to it prayer for unity. Finally, thank you to Fr. Kevin Richter for his leadership since 27 June 2017 through our Ministry 2025. And thank you for your patience and understanding during this process.
