Last week, I hosted an initial meeting with our new facilitator for the Ministry 2025 process. This was simply an opportunity for him to meet with a representative from the diocese, Sr. Esther Mary Nichols, who will continue to serve as the diocesan consultant for us as we formally begin the Ministry 2025 Pastoral Planning process. I will again be meeting with the facilitator next week to continue his orientation through the materials and the process for Ministry 2025. At this next meeting, I anticipate that we will also begin formulating the calendar of meetings for parish representatives who will gather for this pastoral planning process. The formal representatives for each of the parishes will be the two parish directors (or agreed upon substitutes) from each site.
I also anticipate that as a part of this overall process we will provide some format for wider input from parishioners in general – i.e., possible town hall meetings. We will continue to keep everyone informed, and will provide dates and places for meetings as soon as we have established that schedule.
On a separate topic, I remind you again that during the month of October the priests will provide the following
anointing Masses that will be celebrated for anyone who is in need of receiving this sacrament:
At Kuemper School Masses:
Tuesday, October 10, St. Lawrence, 8:25am
Wednesday, October 11, Holy Spirit, 8:25am
At assisted living/nursing home facilities:
Wednesday, October 4, 9:30am, Orchard View
Wednesday, October 4, 10:30am, Hawkeye
Friday, October 6, 10:30am, Sunnybrook
Tuesday, October 10, 10:00am, Regency
Friday, October 13, 10:30am, Swan Place
Thursday, October 19, 9:30am, St. Anthony
If someone you know is unable to attend one of these Masses but would like to be anointed, please call any of the priests on the team to arrange a time and place for one of us to celebrate the sacrament with you.
