Jerome “Jerry” M. Becker, age 80, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 11, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with Fr. Timothy Pick as Celebrant. Music for the Mass will be by Mary Ross. The lector for the Mass will be Maureen Becker. The eucharistic minister will be Gary Becker. Casket bearers will be Brian Weber, Tom Weber, Todd Danner, Ben Becker, Bill Becker, and Keith Danner. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the Glidden Fire Department. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
Visitation without the family present will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church from 9:00 – 10:15 A.M. on Friday morning prior to the Mass.

Jerry was born on May 18, 1940, in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of William and Amelia (Reising) Becker. He grew up on his family’s farm near Breda until his family moved to Thayer, IA, where he graduated from high school in 1958. He worked on several farms, at Paul and Wayne’s, and for the City of Glidden before starting Becker Electric in May of 1975, which he owned and operated until the time of his death. He was married to Vicki Seeden on January 27, 1968, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale. The couple made their home in Glidden where they raised their two children. Jerry was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Glidden and was a 50 plus year member of the Glidden Fire Department. He was a past member of the Jaycees, the Lake City Country Club, and he was an avid bowler.
Jerry is survived by his children and their families: son David Becker Glidden and daughter Julie Becker of Scottsdale, AZ; two granddaughters: Cassandra Cockhren and Alyah Donahue both of Scottsdale, AZ; his siblings: sister Clarita Roth of Spencer, IA, brother John Becker of Tingley, IA, brother Allen Becker of Perry, IA, brother Gary Becker (Maureen) of Perry, IA; and brother Gene Becker (Kaye) of Pomeroy, IA; sisters-in-law Loa Becker of Maple River and Eileen Becker of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents William and Amelia Becker; sister Helen Wolterman (Wilbur), brother Arthur Becker (Dorothy), brother Robert Becker (Jo Anne), brother William Becker (Mary Lou), sister Phyllis Danner (Verlin), sister Jovina Becker, brother Zenie Becker, and brother Mike Becker.
