JoAnn Riesselman, age 90, of Carroll and formerly of Halbur, died Monday, March 25, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur. The Celebrant will be Fr. Terry Roder. Music will be by Julie Sibbel and the St. Augustine Choir. Lector for the Funeral Mass will be Jeff Lampman. Gift Bearers will be Amy Stuepfert, Pam Weatherman, Emily Petersen, Allisa Roth, and Ashley Jackson. Casket Bearers will be Matt Hoffman, Jason Hoffman, Justin Hargens, Jeremy Riesselman, Eric Riesselman, Nick Riesselman, and Austin Riesselman. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Augustine Church on Wednesday morning where additional visitation will be held from 9:30-10:15 a.m.

JoAnn Cecelia Riesselman was born May 15, 1933 in Westside, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Viola (Schweers) Lampman. She attended St. John's School in Arcadia and Carroll High School.
JoAnn married Andrew Riesselman on October 24, 1953 at St. John's Church in Arcadia. They made their home seven miles west of Halbur. They later moved to the home place two miles southwest of Halbur. After retirement in 1998 they moved to Carroll. JoAnn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an avid volunteer for American Red Cross bloodmobile, Holy Spirit Eucharist minister, St. Anthony Hospice and RSVP. Andy and JoAnn celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in October 2023. She loved making cookies for her grandchildren and anyone else.
Left to celebrate her life include her husband Andy of Carroll, her children John (Mary) of Carroll, Kathy (Dale) Hoffman of Carroll, Diane (Dean) Hargens of Sioux City, and Gary (Jolene) of Halbur; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Riesselman, Eric Riesselman, Ashley Jackson, Matt Hoffman, Jason Hoffman, Amy Stuepfert, Pam Weatherman, Emily Petersen, Justin Hargens, Alissa Roth, Nick Riesselman and Austin Riesselman; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings Ralph Lampman and Mary (Ron) Sievers, sisters and brothers in-laws Sandy Lampman, Vern (Betty) Riesselman, Alice Christenson, and Linda Riesselman, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, grandson Adam Riesselman, great-grandson Tyler Weatherman, siblings Berniece (Jerry) Wittrock, and Donald Lampman, sisters-and brothers-in-law Karen Lampman, Herb (Dolores) Riesselman, Lawrence (Ada) Riesselman, Marie (Bill) Wernimont, Walt (Lucille) Riesselman, Vince (Edith) Riesselman, Leonard (Donna) Riesselman, Katie (Bob) Curnyn, Henry 'Hank' Riesselman, Jean (Leonard) Frischmeyer, Tom Christensen and Gordon Podey.
