Lois Roets, 84, of Des Moines, passed away Tuesday December 28, 2021 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Crematory in Urbandale.

Lois was born at home in rural Carroll, Iowa to Charles and Mary (Goecke) Schelle. She was united in marriage to Philip Roets. Lois was a passionate writer and educator teaching many gifted students and teachers.
She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Maltby, brother Ron Schelle, 1 sister in law, along with numerous extended family members.
She is preceded by her husband Philip, parents, siblings: Merlin, Wilmer, Wayne, Nyle Schelle, Norma Kennebeck and Jean Thelen.
