Arden Bluml, age 77, of Halbur, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur. The Celebrant will be Fr. Shinoj Jose. Con-Celebrants will be Fr. Terry Roder, Fr. Lynn Bruch, Fr. Steve Brodersen, and Fr. Gary Snyder. Music will be by Kathy Halbur. Gift Bearers will be Abbey Bueltel, Makayla Bueltel, Wyatt Bluml and Lincoln Bluml. Casket Bearers will be Troy Bluml, Frank Bluml, Dave Bueltel, Tyler Bueltel, Mason Bluml, Miles Bluml, and Kurt Steinkamp. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3-5p.m. on Sunday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. The casket will be moved to St. Augustine Church on Monday morning where visitation will resume from 9:30a to 10:15a.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the funeral home or at the church for a later designation.

Arden, son of Frank and Florence (Mescher) Bluml, was born November 22, 1944. He grew up on the family farm near Halbur. Arden was united in marriage to Linda Madigan on April 22, 1967 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Carroll. Following their marriage, Arden and Linda made their home on the family farm near Halbur, where he loved to be outdoors farming or spending time in his shop. He also enjoyed traveling to farm sales with his boys. Arden loved being with his family and treasured his seven grandchildren. He also had close friends in the community and enjoyed the daily socials that included hands of Halbur pitch.
Arden is survived by his children: Gail (Dave) Bueltel of Templeton, Troy Bluml of Carroll, Julie Bluml (Kurt Steinkamp) of Urbandale, and Frank (Morgan) Bluml of Ankeny. Arden’s grandchildren include Abbey, Tyler, and Makayla Bueltel, Mason and Miles Bluml, and Wyatt and Lincoln Bluml. Arden is also survived by his sisters: Gloria Riesberg of Urbandale and Sharon Kobald of Upland, California as well as his sisters-in-law: Jeanine (Mike) Stilwill of Frisco, Texas and Maureen (Bruce) Schulz of Carroll.
Arden was preceded in death by his wife Linda, parents Frank and Florence, in-laws Leonard and Dorothy Madigan, sister and brother-in-law Marion and Frank Comine, and brothers-in-law Duane Riesberg and Jim Kobald.
