Berniece M. Wittrock, 85, of Carroll, formerly of Arcadia, IA passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family.

     Funeral service will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, May 9, 2022 with Chaplain Angelo Luis of St. Anthony Regional Hospital officiating.  Casket bearers will be Berniece’s grandchildren.  Burial will be at The St. Johns Cemetery in Arcadia. 

     Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday.  Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 – 10:15 A.M. on Monday prior to the service.

     Berniece was born on November 6, 1936 in Westside, IA to Edward and Viola (Schweers) Lampman.  She grew up in the Arcadia area and graduated from St. Angela Academy in 1954. Berniece was married to Gerald M (Jerry) Wittrock at the St. John Church in Arcadia with Father C.A. Ahmann officiating on September 12, 1959.  They lived in Arcadia from marriage until fall of 2010 when they moved to Carroll.  Berniece worked as a bank teller at CCSB and did domestic and business cleaning until retiring in 2000.  She volunteered with the reading program at Ar-We-Va school and was a member of the St. John’s choir and St. John’s Parish.  She enjoyed watching game shows on TV, puzzles, and spending time with her family.

   Berniece is survived by her three sons; Dan (Deborah) Wittrock of Arcadia, David (Angela) Wittrock of Vail,  and Dale (Beth) Wittrock of Arcadia; eight grandchildren: Chad (Shawne), Cory (Erin), Samantha (Ryan Dusil), Ethan (Moriah Patterson), Jordan Townsend (Schafer), Noah (Hailey Bramley), Jacob, and Katelyn; and six great-grandchildren: Annalee, Eliza, Sutton, Amelia, Carson, Tegan, and one on the way;  her sisters JoAnn (Andy) Riesselman of Carroll and Mary (Ron) Sievers of Boone; brother Ralph Lampman of Arcadia; in-laws Sandy Lampman of Manning, Catherine Wittrock of Carroll, Dorothy Berger of Lohrville, Velma Tigges of Carroll, and Merlin Wittrock of Carroll.

   Berniece is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Viola Lampman; her father and mother-in-law Charles and Francis Wittrock; her husband Jerry Wittrock; brother Donald Lampman; her sister-in-law Karen Lampman; and in-laws Alfred & Arlene Wittrock, Charles and Isabelle Wittrock, Clarence Wittrock, Marjorie and Ed Steinkamp, Al Berger, Walter Tigges, and Ron and Jeanette Wittrock.
