FACILITATORS WANTED to facilitate local parish/cluster level meetings to help draft local three-year pastoral plans. The parish/cluster planning phase, guided by the Ministry 2025 Guidebook, will require the facilitator to guide 4-5 meetings over the course of several months in the parish cluster. Facilitators will be assigned one to two parish/clusters within a short distance of their home, but not their own parish/cluster. There are needed 4-5 facilitators for each deanery with a total of about 15-20 as this will be a major commitment of time over the course of several months and there will be an extreme gratitude for such generosity. All materials and training will be provided.
Facilitators need to be able to:
1. Attend the training session on March 4, 2017 in Storm Lake
2. Travel across the diocese late afternoons and late evenings
3. Lead meetings [professional experience in leading meetings, facilitating process development, comfortable working and speaking in front of groups that are large and diverse is helpful]
4. Be comfortable dealing with change, uncertainty and loss
5. Be supportive of the Ministry 2025 plan—accept the principles and goals of the plan
6. Work with pastors and people of the parishes they are assigned
Facilitators will be:
1. reimbursed for mileage at the current IRS mileage rate (53.5 cents per mile) for travel to the training day on March 4, 2017 from the parish to which they belong
2. offered a standard stipend of $75/meeting plus mileage for each meeting they facilitate by the parish(es) comprising that new parish/cluster unit.
Persons my “opt out” of being a facilitator for personal reasons as some may realize, after the training, that they cannot do the task at hand.
Please contact Fr. Mark if you are interested or know a qualified person.
