Florence was born on Feb. 12, 1932 in Carroll. She was the daughter of Aloysius and Blandina (Schnitter) Miller. She grew up in Carroll, where she attended St. Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School and St. Angela Academy. Florence married Lowell Daniel on June 27, 1949 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Carroll with Rev. Lambert Schenkelberg officiating. They lived and farmed north of Lidderdale all their married life.
Florence was a lifelong member of Holy Family Church in Lidderdale and then St. Elizabeth Seton in Glidden. Florence devoted her life to being a good wife, mother and homemaker. She was very organized with her daily routines of cooking and cleaning, baking and gardening, ironing and sewing, and just all of the daily little things a mother does for her husband and family. She made it all look easy. She was a good listener and always had time to sit at the kitchen table and visit with whomever stopped by to see her. Florence and Lowell loved to go dancing, sometimes twice a week, after taking dancing lessons at the Lakewood Ballroom. They were blessed with a marriage of 62 years. After the death of her husband Lowell in December of 2011, she remained on the farm. She then moved into Swan Place Assisted Living in Carroll in 2015 and then Accura Healhcare of Carroll in 2022. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2005, and had endured with such strength and grace, never complaining, for 17 years and was still walking with her walker in early 2022.
Florence is survived by her nine children, who loved her dearly: Thomas, David (Deanna), Michael (Deb), Laura Danner, Jayne (Kevin) Klocke, Patrick, Pamela (Steve) Mohr, Paul and Mark; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and her sister Caroline Clark of Casper, Wyoming.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Lowell in 2011; her great-granddaughter Claire Marie Steere in 2019; her parents and parents-in-law; and brothers and sisters: Francis Miller, Cornelius Miller, Genevieve Ellison, Joseph Miller, and Theresa Cornelius.
