The Ministry 2025 process continues to move forward. We have completed two meetings with all priests, deacons, and lay directors from the 13 parishes in Carroll County. We have looked at what we want our parishes to look like, the current reality, special considerations [including Kuemper], and options. We will be presenting a report to the bishop in the near future to see if we are on the right track before we reconvene these meetings to continue our planning. Much yet needs to be done. We thank you for your prayers and your trust in the process that we will come up with a plan that will be most beneficial to most of us despite changes many will need to make.
Inquiry Night for Deacon Candidates: November 21, 7pm, in the Family Room at St. Lawrence Church. This is a year that men can apply to the deacon formation program (the next year for applications will be 2020). The inquiry night is for men to find out more about becoming a deacon (wives are encouraged to come, also).
Any men who have thought about becoming a deacon or feel called to deaconate are welcome to attend this meeting. If you know of someone that you believe would be a good deacon candidate, please encourage him to attend! The most common thing people say about how they got started in the diaconate is that they felt called to “do more” in the Church. If you’ve felt God stirring in your heart recently, or if your appetite for prayer and for knowing more about the faith has been growing, these also might be signs of a possible vocation. If that’s you, please attend this inquiry night!
Vacation: I will be away on vacation from November 5 until November 17. I will be traveling to New Zealand to visit my good friend, Fr. John O’Connor, who is a priest in the Diocese of Christchurch in New Zealand. If you have an urgent need for a priest, please feel free to contact any of the priests on the team…
