JOB OPENING: Parish Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper FULL-TIME to perform secretarial and clerical support duties for the Pastor (and staff), i.e., typing, filing, mailing, recording data, and scheduling appointments for the six [6] parishes of Christ the King Catholic Community and to complete all financial transactions for St. Bernard and Our Lady of Mount Carmel parishes in a timely and efficient manner to provide for the efficient operations of the office and enhancement of staff effectiveness. Knowledge, skills, experience required or preferred: one-year of advanced training in business administration, office procedures or general clerical skills with a minimum of two [2] years’ experience in secretarial duties and/or a two-year associate degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent work experience in a related field; strong working knowledge of office equipment and office operations including hands-on computer skills with knowledge of word processing, databases and spreadsheets required; experience in the public presentation of information and financial data is preferred; excellent organizational and communication skills needed including the ability to deal tactfully and graciously with the public in person or on the telephone, and professionally with staff and administrative boards, councils, teams, and committees; above average math and general accounting skills are essential; ability to handle confidential information appropriately, ability to perform responsibilities effectively under occasionally stressful situations, and familiarity with the Roman Catholic Church.
