Joel Wittrock, age 64, of Halbur, died Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur. The celebrant will be Fr. Terry Roder. Music will be by Julie Sibbel and the St. Augustine Choir. Lector will be Nick Wittrock. Gift Bearers will be Emersyn Andresen, Ensley Klocke, and Jace Klocke. Eucharistic Minister will be Lynn Wittrock. Casket Bearers will be Andrew Bell, Adam Klocke, Bryan Wittrock, Levi Wittrock, Brent Wittrock, and Luke Wittrock. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. The casket will be moved to St. Augustine Church on Thursday morning where visitation will resume from 9:30-10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the St. Anthony Regional Hospital Cancer Center in Carroll. Those wishing to mail a memorial may direct it to the Joel Wittrock Family, C/O Sharp Funeral Home, 226 W. 8th Street, Carroll, IA 51401.

Born July 3rd, 1958, Joel was the son of Walter and LaVerne Wittrock from Halbur, IA. He was a 1976 graduate of Kuemper Catholic High School. He retired from Landus Cooperative in November of 2020 after 38 years of employment.
Joel married Jean Hoffman on November 4th, 1977. The couple resided and raised their family in Halbur. He enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping was just a few of the activities he shared with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Jean Wittrock of Halbur; his children: Justin Wittrock and his husband, Andrew Bell, of Chicago, IL, Jessica Wittrock of Little Canada, MN, and Nikki Klocke and her husband, Adam Klocke, of Halbur, IA. Joel also had three grandchildren, whom he adored: Emersyn 9, Ensley 5, and Jace 4.

Brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law: Gary (Marla) Hoffman of Iowa City, Gail (John) Potthoff of Halbur, Keith (Pam) Hoffman of Waukee, Amy (Russ) Sturm of Avoca, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Joel was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Wittrock, parents Walter and LaVerne Wittrock, In-laws Lynn and Elaine Hoffman, brother-in-law: Rudy Wolf, and nephew Bart Wittrock as well as extended aunts and uncles.
