MISSION COOPERATIVE is the program the Diocese of Sioux City participates with the Society of the Propagation of the Faith to bring missionaries from the around the world to our parishes each year to share their stories and to ask for assistance. This weekend at all Masses, Fr. Francis Ejiro Ekere will speak about the missionary work of the Diocese of Minna in Nigeria. Minna Diocese was established in 1973 and has continued the work of Irish missionaries begun in 1911 by ministering to a poor and rural population. For 106 years the Diocese of Minna has continued her work of mission and social justice to all poor rural dwellers within the diocese through building school, clinics, the education of seminarians and the provision of clean water to improve sanitary conditions of the rural poor. Thank you for remembering the Missionary work of the church in the world. A
second collection will be taken after Holy Communion next weekend for the Propagation of the Faith and the Diocese of Minna.
