Norma Jean Eischeid, age 90, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Addington Place of Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Holy Angels of Roselle with Father Timothy Schott and Father Terry Order as celebrants. There will be no visitation or viewing at the church on Friday morning. Lectors will be Danny Kroeger and Jeff Langenfeld. Gift bearers will be Tonya Weber, Tricia Niehaus and Kelly Kroeger. Casket bearers will be Jeff Langenfeld, Craig Langenfeld, Brent Eischeid, Chad Eischeid, Danny Kroeger, Shawn Hoffman, Nick Mulhbauer, Chris Eischeid and Justin Eischeid. Honorary Casket bearers will be Mandy Reynolds, Tonya Kroeger, Tricia Niehaus, Kelly Kroeger, Holly Paulsen and Jackie Isenberger. Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery in Roselle. A luncheon and fellowship with the family and friends will be held at the Halbur School following the burial.
Visitation will be at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, with a Wake Service held at 7:00 P.M. The Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.
Norma Jean was born July 6, 1932, at her parents’ home in Mt. Carmel, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Florence (Schirck) Reiff. She attended parochial school in Mt. Carmel graduating with the Class of 1950. On June 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Clifford Eischeid at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. They were blessed with six children: Pat, Rick, Deb, Barb, Gail and Mark. When the children were younger, she was a homemaker raising their children. Once the children were older, she was employed as a secretary at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll for 20 years until she retired.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle and served on the ladies guild for several years. She enjoyed tending her to large flower gardens and loved to play cards and was involved in many neighborhood card clubs throughout the years. In her spare time, she loved to crochet and crocheted several afghans. Jean and Cliff also enjoyed golfing, bowling, snowmobiling, and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Eischeid of Carroll, IA; children: Pat (Glen) Langenfeld of Mesa, AZ, Rick (Becky) Eischeid of Gillette, WY, Deb Kroeger of Carroll, Barb Hoffmann of Auburn, IA, Gail (Dale) Muhlbauer of Pine Haven, WY, Mark (Katie) Eischeid of Gillette; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Art Reiff of Mt. Carmel; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Beth Ann Kroeger; son-in-law, Kevin Kroeger; brothers and sisters, Alvin (Elle Mae) Reiff, Della Reiff, Marcella Sullivan; sister-in-law, Marilyn Reiff.
